Support Muntadhar al-Zaidi. Give Bush the boot
Wed, 17 December 2008A lot has been written about Muntadhar al-Zaidi, since he gained notoriety by throwing his shoes at George Bush during a recent Baghdad press conference.
Muntadhar al-Zaidi even has his own Wikipedia page. A quick Google search throws up thousands of pages already. Bloggers and other media are rather supportive.
Muntadhar al-Zaidi is currently being held by Iraqi security and could face years in jail. Iraqi protesters and Arab media are calling for his release.
None of the shoes Zaidi threw hit Bush. Lawyers are rushing to support Zaidi. Bush's security team on the other hand never even tried to get in the way of the shoes, and American comedians are having a field day.
Letterman: I don't think President Bush has dodged anything like that since, well, the Vietnam War.
Leno: Looks like we finally found something President Bush is good at - dodgeball!
Ferguson: The shoe-throwing incident has made Sarah Palin want to be president even more. Free shoes! You betcha!
Well, there is an easier way for you to give George Bush the boot.
Don't write a letter, or make a blog post. Wrap up your old boot and post it to George Bush at the White House.
Mark the end of Bush, by doing something that will really make a difference. Join the Boots for Bush campaign — post Bush your old boot.
Here's the address: The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20500.
