Power dressing to the right, Joe Tripodi burst onto the political scene by pinching the seat of a sitting member from his own side before fading into backbench obscurity.

Taking his cue from American politics, Tripodi single handedly dragged himself from political oblivion and onto the front pages of Sydney's tabloids after allegedly sexually harassing a startled young Democrat.

Although his bosom buddies in the Labor party were quick to jump to his defense, it is likely to be some time before he is once again performing at his peak.

Given the shape and size of his electorate, Tripodi is rumoured to be more than happy with his political foray.
